The girls were excited to be at the Far Glory Ocean Park which is located very close to our B&B. We headed there right after breakfast. The entrance ticket is NT$820 per adult and free for kids below 115cm. Quite expensive, especially since the park is nothing to shout about. Just a couple of the standard rides and a sealion and dolphin show. What surprised us was the discovery that Rui has turned out to be a speed junkie! She scoffed at the slow rides like merry go round and preferred the roller coaster rides. We went on that twice! Yan also preferred the faster rides better.
After lunch, we took a frantic taxi ride to the train station to catch the train to 瑞芳, which is near 九份，our next destination. This is a quaint little town nestled in the hills made famous by the movie 悲情城市. All the shops and houses are built on the hills, creating an interesting sight. The 九份老街is a steep windy road with all sorts of shops selling Taiwanese snacks, souvenirs etc. We enjoyed the walk. At the end of the 九份老街 is our B&B - 温莎堡日光涵馆. Nice B&B offering good view of 九份 but ex at NT$4800 per night!
