Sleeping on their own

There's always been talk in the household of letting the girls sleep on their own once they reach a good age. No more "Mama ta ta me to sleep" and no more "Mama squashed in the middle of the 2 sleeping girls". The girls have always responded negatively when we brought that topic up previously.

This time, inspired by Auntie V's attempt to put the 2 boys to sleep in their own room, Rui and Yan have agreed to try out the same. I still need to put them to sleep but after they have dozed off, I will sneak out into the master room.

This worked brilliantly the first night on Sat. I woke up at 5am, unused to not having the girls by my side, and waited for them to call out for me. Nothing. Yan only walked into the room and roused me from my sleep when it was all bright at 7+am.

On Sunday night though, it wasn't as smooth-sailing. Yan woke me up at 2am and I had to go to sleep in their room with her. When Rui woke up in the morning, she questioned why I was in their room and insisted she wanted to sleep on her own! Talk about new found independence!
