Making the bed

I asked Yan to help me make the bed this morning and to tidy up all the stuffed toys. This is what she did with the toys.

From Caterpillars to Butterflies

Our 2 caterpillars turned into butterflies right before our eyes! The miracle of life!

Hong Kong 2011

This year, we decided on HK.

We spent 6 days there. Quite long by HK standards. 2 of the days were spent in Disneyland.

However, this trip was not as good as our Taiwan trip last year as the weather was unexpectedly cold and wet. The packed malls and roads made walking around tiring for the children. We still managed to cover most of what we wanted to do - went up the Peak, walked down Avenue of the Stars, watched Symphony of the Lights), island hopped to Lama Island, spent 2 days at Disneyland and caught the fireworks show, took the tram around Causeway Bay, shopped at H&M and various malls and ate yummy siew ngor fun and other hk fare.

The girls loved Disneyland and the Disneyland hotel. Rui even went on Space Moutain 3 times. Such courage!

Life without helper

Our helper is on home leave for 3 weeks. So we are left to our own devices when it comes to housework and cooking. The girls are roped in to help out and they have been a great help so far. Rui has been enthusiastic about helping out with the cooking and Yan is the designated furniture cleaner.

Kutu Attack!

Rui's head was infested with head lice recently. Argh! The sight of those little creepy crawlies on her head was a huge turn-off. Not to mention all the work we had to go through to clean up her head, everybody else's head, the cat, the linen, the headwear, the sofa as well as the car. Basically everything that Rui has touched, we had to disinfect.

After that ordeal, we decided to cut off her hair and give her a bob look. The result is a short nice hairdo that looks even better than her previous longer one.
