The Monopoly Deal Game

This is a gem of a card game! I got introduced to it by a colleague in school and I told Ben about it. The next thing I knew, he bought a set and we have been playing it non-stop! Rui loves it and she can actually play a decent game although she needs pointers here and there on what is the best move. She even managed to win 1 game! All this drilling had better made a property and finance guru out of her.

Baking Class at Home

My 2 girls have caught the baking bug. We did one baking session at Aunt QC previously and recently they asked for another. The cookies weren't as tasty as those from the first try, probably cos we added cocoa powder and that made the cookies pretty bland. But it was still a good try nevertheless!

More importantly, the children learnt fractions (add 3 and 1/2 cups of flour), science (important ingredients include flour, sugar, egg, butter etc) and had loads of fun!

The Origami Craze

There is this origami craze going on in the Chan household ever since we bought 2 books on that. The girls are intrigued by the many different origami animals and objects that they can produce. Here are just some of their work.

I have to say, I don't share their enthusiasm. I never was artistic and never will be.

Lunar New Year at Ipoh

Our lunar new year is spent yearly (almost) in Ipoh. This year is no exception.

Despite the tiring road trips ( 7 hours to Ipoh and 10 hours back), we had a good time. The girls enjoyed playing with their cousins.

Math problem

P1 Math can be quite challenging and interesting. Check out this question taken from Rui's activity book. It made me and Ben go "huh?" for a second.
